Indoor Season #2 is coming upIf you are interested in playing the second session of Indoor soccer at either Soccerzone or The Summit let us know. We will be forming new teams and continue with the ones we already have. This is a good time of the year to try new players, so if you know of any friends or relatives who are interested in playing soccer invite them to play and be part of the family.
Take advantage of some of the best winter training in the stateMany of our players are showing up to the training sessionsand the results are very evident ; better conditioning and improved trapping, passing and shooting skills. Luka, Issa and Jose provide excellent support to our kids.If you would like to be part of it, just check the practice schedule in the internet and show up. Remember the more times you touch the ball, the more friendly the ball becomes with you.
Soccer Locker continues to support Lansing area kidsWe take this opportunity to thank Ann at Soccer Locker for her contribution to helping soccer players in the Lansing area. This can be an expensive sport in this part of the world andshe has helped by donating lots of shoes, goalie gloves, socks, shinguards, shirts and shorts to our families. If you are in need of soccer equipment just talk to Veronica and we will help you out. Muchas gracias Ann and Happy Holidays. |

Congratulations to one of our own, Ali Philmon, State Champion 2005Ali Philmon wins Division 2 State Championship for East Lansing High School. Ali
came from Sudan, Africa and attended North Elementary School as a
child. In 1999, when I was assistant principal at North
Elementary, Ali came to my attention when I saw him juggling a
soccer ball by himself. I was instantly impressed with his natural
ability with a soccer ball and we started to play
"soccer tennis" during lunchtime. Soon, crowds of children began to
gather around our impromptu sessions and from there, Ali went into the
Lansing Soccer Club team in the 12 and Under division of the Lansing
Parks & Recreation League.
With the support of very special people, Ali
was guided
towards the right direction. We celebrate his success as a student
and as a soccer player. As a freshman he played in the varsity team at
East Lansing High School and today became state champ. Great job to Ali
and for all the supporting people who made this possible. This is what
LSC is about. |
